Valencia, Spain, to
host the European Shuai Jiao Championships from 10-12 June, 2005. The
British Shuai Jiao Union (BSJU) in association with the Chinese Kuoshu
Institute bid to host the European Shuai Jiao Championships at the British
Open, which was scheduled to take place in June, this year. As the bid was
lost to Spain, and the focus for the tournament and sponsorship was reduced.
As a result the BSJU and CKI Executive Committee took the decision to
postpone the British Open and to to re-submit an enhanced bid for an event
in 2007. The bid has been accepted, in principle, by the European Shuai Jiao
Union, for the United Kingdom to host the European Shuai Jiao Championships,
as part of a wider martial arts festival incorporating: Shuai Jiao, Tao Lu,
Full and Semi contact sparring (TWKSF Rules).
An Apology
The CKI Executive
Committee welcomed the tremendous response to the British Open. All
application forms and cheques to enter the event will be returned by the end
of May. The CKI Executive Committee would like to apologise for having to
postpone this event. We do, however, welcome the support for the event in
2007, which promises to be one of the best tournaments in Europe. The event
details will be posted on this website once confirmed.
