The
sites where traditional Chinese martial arts can be practiced are few and far
between. Serious martial art practitioners searching for a venue where they can
demonstrate their art to it’s full potential do not have to search any longer.
The
British Open Martial Arts Tournament 2003 will herald a new age for martial
arts in
The
event will be sponsored by the Chinese Kuoshu Institute and sanctioned by the
British Chinese Kuoshu Federation (BCKF), the British Shuai Jiao Association
(BSCA), the International Chinese Kuoshu Federation (ICKF) and the World Kuoshu
Federation (TWKSF), and recognised by the British Council for Chinese Martial
Arts (BCCMA). The tournament will be facilitated by Internationally qualified
officials, with Master Rob Simpson as the Referee General.
The
tournament will consist of Internal and External Empty Hand and Weapons Forms;
Chinese Wrestling; Semi Contact Sparring and the highlight of the event Lei Tai
Full Contact Sparring.
Contrary,
to what you might see at other events sparring is not limited to just kicks and
punches. The full repertoire of your
skills may be used including entrapment, take downs throws and sweeps. The variety of techniques used makes Full
Contact Sparring arguably the most exiting in the World. It is our aim to bring the best in Chinese Martial Arts together. Schools representing the various martial arts styles are welcome to express their art through the various elements of the tournament. |
